Role Synopsis


Baker Hughes offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization. We are currently recruiting for a Global Freight Supplier Management Supervisor to join the Baker Hughes team supporting our Supply Chain Department located at our Rankin Road facility in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Effectively manage freight forwarder and other international transportation service provider relationships globally.
  • Coordinate and execute the global tendering and award process based on cost and total value of services provided
  • Maintain and work to improve BHI's global freight forwarding Rate Repository Tool (RRT)
  • Act as lead contact and Administrator of (RRT) while managing the relationship with 3rd party programming teams.
  • Responsible for data integrity, functionality, maintenance and development of (RRT).
  • Closely collaborate with all BHI destinations to assure cost and value are optimized
  • Maintain and improve service levels of BHI's chosen third party logistics providers
  • Continuously improve cost of global freight through constant review of current rates and negotiate to stay ahead

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Very strong Excel and Access skills required.
  • Logistics software design and engineering strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of international commerce and commercial terms
  • Deep expertise in rate negotiations with forwarders, clearing agents, and air and ocean carriers.
  • Experience with FCPA regulations related to international logistics.
