Role Synopsis
Baker Hughes offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization. We are currently recruiting for a Global Freight Supplier Management Supervisor to join the Baker Hughes team supporting our Supply Chain Department located at our Rankin Road facility in Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Effectively manage freight forwarder and other international transportation service provider relationships globally.
- Coordinate and execute the global tendering and award process based on cost and total value of services provided
- Maintain and work to improve BHI's global freight forwarding Rate Repository Tool (RRT)
- Act as lead contact and Administrator of (RRT) while managing the relationship with 3rd party programming teams.
- Responsible for data integrity, functionality, maintenance and development of (RRT).
- Closely collaborate with all BHI destinations to assure cost and value are optimized
- Maintain and improve service levels of BHI's chosen third party logistics providers
- Continuously improve cost of global freight through constant review of current rates and negotiate to stay ahead
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Very strong Excel and Access skills required.
- Logistics software design and engineering strongly preferred.
- Understanding of international commerce and commercial terms
- Deep expertise in rate negotiations with forwarders, clearing agents, and air and ocean carriers.
- Experience with FCPA regulations related to international logistics.
