Role Synopsis
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer enhances and maximizes the continuous production of Gilmore Valve products through the leadership of lean procedures. This Manufacturing Engineer analyzes facility layouts, costs, process flows, labor and production schedules to determine maximum efficiency and utilization of workers and equipment.

Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Create the lean vision and implement the lean strategy to reduce inventory, lead-time and waste at the manufacturing facility.
• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Drive measurable improvements in productivity and product flow.
• Leads to maintenance to develop and facilitate production and facility equipment preventative maintenance program.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Recommends and implements improvements in the production process.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• Arrange the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

QHSE Responsibilities
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.
• Apply Proserv, and where appropriate Client Company's, Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Safety Management Systems.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, and lead by example to ensure company goals are achieved and exceeded.

Qualifications
Education

Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or a related field is a must.

Experience

• At least five years lean manufacturing experience with: 5S workouts, Value Stream Mapping, Value Stream Analysis, Kanban (pull systems), Just in Time (JIT) and/or Kaizen.  
• Significant lean problem solving skills.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification via agency or employer.
• Ability to coach and lead on-going lean practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred

• Valve industry experience preferred.
• Lean manufacturing experience in a grass roots environment.
• Management experience of a maintenance department.
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) experience.
• Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) experience.
