Position Summary:
Due to ongoing expansion, we are adding a new accounting position to oversee our revenue and joint interest billing processes. The candidate will be responsible for insuring quality and accuracy of the company's accounting system. The candidate will oversee a broad range of responsibilities including:
Review non-operated property revenue and joint interest billing statements from outside operators to insure accuracy.
Research and resolve account payable and account receivable issues with vendors and working interest partners.
Supervise bookkeeper to review accounting data entry to insure quality.
Research and respond to accounting inquiries from vendors, royalty and working interest owners.
Prepare company financial statements and individual property lease operating statements utilizing Quick Books and Excel.
Interact with outside company accountants for tax preparation and audit reviews.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.
Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience (does not necessarily have to be with an oil and gas company).
Willing to groom younger candidate who possess characteristics listed below, or more experienced professional:
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Self-starter who can pro-actively follow through and stay with task until it is accomplished.
Practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving; hands on worker.
Well organized in order to plan work schedule.
Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
