JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Marine Project Solutions position plans, manages and coordinates maritime and industrial marine construction and logistics projects for customers in the oil and gas, mining and marine transportation industries.  Works with customers from project concept to completion. Coordinates and supervises the project planning, as well as the activities of on-site project personnel to ensure a designated project progresses on schedule and within budget parameters.  Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Partner with business development group in maintaining and building strong relations with customers.  Review project proposals and determine the time frames, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

Leader in building a strong project management team through the development of specific systems, processes and standards that drive the operations of the department and enhances project organization, professionalism and profitability.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

5 - 10 years as a project manager or project engineer in above stated areas. Must have experience with multi-million dollar marine projects with focus on either design engineering, construction, salvage, overhaul, logistics or supply chain management. Experience with customer and contractor negotiations.@ Must have experience with subcontracting and sourcing. Must show proven ability of budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and meeting deadlines. Must be willing to travel up to 30%. Must have experience in managing personnel, engineering, document control, QA/QC including material certificates, NDT certificates, as built documentation and verify that all are followed and complete in accordance with the scope of work, client's Q.A. manual, industry and regulatory standards and project specific requirements.@ Solid Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience required. Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives.@

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline.  PMP certificate required.  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May work outside in conditions of both hot and cold temperatures and may be exposed to odors, dust, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment.  May also work in a typical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.  Ability to travel and work long hours to meet project deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those pertaining to safety and health.
