JOB DESCRIPTION

A MPD Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing diversified tasks relating to MPD equipment rig-up and rig down and to the continuous operation of the MPD equipment package including but not limited to choke operation and pressure monitoring  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:  

     Comply with and participate in Company Safety and Quality Programs
     Extensive travel to customers locations
     Work effectively as part of operational team in diverse drilling locations
     Demonstrates the ability to work with customers and Canrig MPD engineering / operations personnel
     Thorough formal and on the job training demonstrate the ability to supervise the field operation of a MPD system and associated equipment
     Repair, overhaul, and pressure testing where appropriate all MPD equipment including lines, valves, chokes, and mud-gas separator
     Inspect all equipment used and perform preventive maintenance checks and services
     Maintain company issued tools and be knowledgeable and skillful in the use of these tools
     Maintain and complete documentation including detailed daily operations and equipment maintenance reports
     Learns and promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable QHSE guidelines
     Provide mentorship and on-the-job training for junior operations individuals
     This is a field rotational job with a 2/3 - 1/3 rotational schedule, typically 2 weeks on and one week off working 12 hr shifts
     Schedule flexibility may be required to meet customer drilling schedules

JOB REQUIREMENTS

     High School Diploma or GED and trade/technical school diploma or suitable experience  
     Formal training in drilling well control is preferred
     The selected candidate should have at least 3 years MPD/UBD experience - knowledge of Allen-Bradley control systems would be an asset
     A valid Driver's license is a requirement for this position
