Wild Well Control is currently seeking a Field Technician, Surveys of Well Control Equipment and Systems to join our team.
Summary Position provides rig site surveys of well control equipment and systems to enable compliance with API, IADC, industry best practices or other Client requirements as may be requested. Documents any/all deficiencies, and provide photographic evidence, if applicable. Provides handwritten summary of initial findings, with a copy to be left with client's field supervision pending final report issuance to client management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Rig Surveys - Upon completion of orientation and training phases, masters and demonstrates to management's satisfaction competency with proprietary company's survey software and filing of reports in a timely manner according to established departmental guidelines.
- Understands and agrees to adhere to all HSE rules and requirements of WWCI and our Clients pertaining to the required PPE's, JSA's and any location specific orientations required by clients prior to performing any and all inspection work necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including obtaining all necessary permits to commence with work.
- Conducts survey to verify compliance with API, IADC, industry best practices, or Client's requirements. Based on survey results, corrective actions, if any required, are outlined for review with Client.
- Writes, reviews, communicates, and disseminates survey and inspection reports.
- Reviews corrective actions and mitigation procedures to enable compliance with API & IADC requirements.
- Assists client in the evaluation of corrective actions completed during surveys and inspections.
- Preparation of all related documents, as needed, including correspondence, proposals, reports and invoices.
- Work outside of normal office hours as needed to support worldwide rig survey operations.
- Perform above duties at company office, client office and field locations as needed.
Minimum Requirements - A minimum of 5 or more years work experience with a drilling contractor or well servicing company in some capacity.
- A solid understanding of rig well control systems is required.
- Knowledge of API standards related to rig pressure control equipment is a plus.
- Must possess leadership skills.
- Will be expected to learn laws and regulations governing domestic and international well control equipment compliance standards.
- Must be able to interact effectively with diverse work cultures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with rig crews, management, customers and the public.
- Must possess excellent reasoning and analytical abilities.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Strong communications skills (oral and written).
- Must demonstrate competency in writing skills, composition, spelling and grammar to management's satisfaction.
- Well Control Certificate (IADC or IWCF) preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office®: Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®.
Education - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Some college preferred
