• Inspection of all types of fixed equipment including, but not limited to: structural steel, heaters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, piping, and miscellaneous equipment
• Document and report inspection findings and develop recommendations in a clear, concise and factual manner using terms understandable to readers outside of the specific technical function
• Perform internal and external visual inspections and ultrasonic thickness surveys on fixed equipment, both during routine maintenance and during shutdowns/turnarounds
• Perform welder certification testing, monitor welding performance and maintenance of individual welder's certifications to ensure welder's skill while maintaining code
• Assist with issues involving mechanical integrity, welding, corrosion control/evaluation, metallurgy, degradation mechanisms, inspection techniques, materials selection and repair techniques on new and in- service equipment

• Technical or Engineering Related College Degree
• 5-10 years of refinery experience as an area or unit inspector
• Strong understanding of all applicable codes and hold certifications in: API 653, API 510, and API 570 (or possess API 510 and be able to obtain API 570 and 653)
• Must be willing to work overtime and cover any shift as required
• Other desirable criteria includes: CWI Certification, Training with API 580/581, Current ASNT, SNT TC 1A certifications, and verifiable NDE experience (particularly in PT, MT, UTT)
