 81439 - Offshore Construction Supervisor
Our client is one of the world's largest energy companies employing over 80,000 personnel and operating in over 100 countries worldwide with expertise covering a range of energy sources.
They are currently recruiting for the position of Offshore Construction Supervisor, based in Houston.
Job Description
* A member of the offshore hook up construction leadership team reporting to the Mad Dog Rig Replacement offshore hook-up construction manager
* Provide leadership in safe execution of work offshore
* Manage contractor teams in installation, hookup and testing of electrical and instrumented systems and cabling related to removal and reinstallation of the MD rig
* Provide direct or oversight support to E&I inspection activities
* Responsible for successful mechanical completion and handover to commissioning team
* Support commissioning team in commissioning, startup and handover to the asset of electrical and instrumented systems
* Together with offshore scheduler and contractor supervision, verify progress and timewriting of contractor teams working on E&I related workpacks
* Provide input and guidance to onshore engineering contractor for workpack and MoC development for any E&I elements
* Provide input and guidance to potential carryover fabrication activities at the site prior to sailaway, expected in February 2012
Skills & Experience
* Extensive offshore construction experience with demonstrable experience in electrical and instrumentation systems and cabling
* Considerable to extensive offshore construction supervisory experience leading contractor firms
* Competence in US GoM codes and practices for Electrical and Instrumented systems construction and commissioning
* Use of project completions systems, e.g. WinPCS or similar for documenting construction and commissioning activities
* Ability to use Microsoft Office products for reporting and other correspondence
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
