Job Description:
Position Summary

Our client is a leading global operator with operations worldwide. This HSSE Management role is a contract position, expected to last at least around two years, at the very beginning of a hugely exciting project. Experience of far eastern shipyards, shipping operations, safety programmes and safety process systems is essential. LNG experience is desirable. Your role will be to develop, lead and coordinate our client's strategic and technical approach to safety across a new project. This will include taking a step change to embed the Safety ethos further into the business and delivering high standards in line with our client's culture, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. This is a high profile role.

Key Accountabilities

    • To support the strategic agenda for HSSE across this project
    • To develop and implement strategies to deliver effective Safety management within the project, in line with internal and external business drivers
    • To deliver effective leadership of the Safety function and professional discipline within the region
    • To coordinate and lead Safety across each of the regional assets, ensuring it is fit for purpose across global operations, that communication channels and roles and responsibilities are defined
    • To review and ensure that the most appropriate Safety strategy, practices, and processes are being effectively adopted by the region's businesses and contractors and that these are in line with our client's aims and goals
    • To ensure region's Safety professionals add value to our client's business through setting and delivery of clear business focused objectives
    • To ensure Safety is considered an integral part of business planning and management and performance delivery and that relevant training by appropriate personnel is undertaken

Experience Needed:

    • Proven track record of HSSE project/program management delivery across multiple countries
    • Proven ability to integrate people, systems and processes
    • Displays professional innovation and initiative as well as an ability to influence key stakeholders across functions
    • Recognizes the internal and external constraints and knows how to overcome them

Specialist Knowledge/Languages:

    • Ability to integrate multiple streams of activities
    • Ability to create, develop and articulate an overall strategy for HSSE Management within a multi country and multi cultural environment
    • High level of industry knowledge in HSSE Management area of expertise
    • Solid business acumen
    • Effective communication
    • Management of employee performance
    • Service development & delivery
    • Strategic thinking
    • Focus on needs of internal and external stakeholders
    • Proven leadership skills and attributes
    • Ability to influence and effect change at senior executive level
