Our Client is a leading independent international oil and gas exploration and production company, with operations in the North Sea, Middle East and AsiaReporting to the Subsurface Lead in Aberdeen, the Development Geophysicist will be responsible for the supporting the seismic interpretation, geophysical modelling and mapping of operated appraisal, development and production assets in the North Sea? Develop static models using Petrel, attribute and fault mapping? STOIIP estimates and sensitivity analysis to variations in development options? Development well planning and operational support? Provide geological input to reservoir development plans and life of field strategies? Manage and co-ordinate 3rd party geological contractors ? Work closely with other specialists within the fields of reservoir engineering, geology and petroleum engineering to produce a synergistic multi-discipline team approach to reservoir development and production optimisation.? Responsible for inputs to the subsurface lead on the geophysical issues within the Aberdeen operated development assets, and advising on strategy for non-operated assets.You MUST have:-? The right to live and work in the UK ? Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in Geology or a related discipline? Minimum 5 years post graduate experience with an E&P an Operator working on operated production and development projects? Proven capability in geophysical interpretation, utilisation of VSPS to integrate well and seismic data is essential. In addition an understanding of how to define and quantify volumetric uncertainties relating to mapped structures and the ability to incorporate these uncertainties into the static modelling process, leading to the optimisation of well placements ? Experienced in applying various depth conversion processes, and deriving elastic properties from seismic data ? Understanding of the use of seismically derived attributes in building a static reservoir model, with knowledge of currently available software tools
