Inventory/Repair Technician (Shop based)Dickinson, ND Role Synopsis Baker Hughes, Dickinson, ND is currently seeking an equipment specialist to work on a primarily daylight schedule, Monday through Friday, typically 8:00AM start, including one week on-call night coverage, every 3 weeks. The equipment specialists runs all warehouse operations for drilling tool prep and repair. On a consistent basis, drilling tools are dropped off after a job dirty and sometimes damaged. These tools are received by the equipment specialists to confirm all equipment has been received and paperwork has been completed. The equipment specialists will break down these tools to component level for cleaning and repair. After the tool components have been cleaned and refurbished, they are reassembled using Baker Hughes tech manuals and diagrams, painted, and then restocked for the next job. When the next job comes in, the equipment specialist will pull the appropriate equipment and tools from stock and get them ready to go out with the services supervisor and oil field engineers. Loading and unloading of equipment is required for this position in addition to high mechanical aptitude. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- develops and applies basic knowledge of standardized procedures, performs routine maintenance on tools, units and support equipment
- replaces expendable parts, gaskets, seals, lines, fittings, key component parts etc
- may pick up equipment at the rig site, test or refit equipment off the shelf
Basic Qualifications
- high School Diploma or equivalent required
- strong mechanical aptitude required
- knowledge of inventory management required
- ability to work efficiently in teams required
- ability to communicate effectively in a courteous manner required
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- AS degree in technical discipline preferred
- experience in the oil field industry preferred
- experience in repair and maintenance of drilling tools highly preferred
Other Details
- ability to work a week long nighttime on-call schedule once every three weeks in addition to normal daylight shift hours required
