Role Synopsis At Baker Hughes, this position is responsible for providing services on land as a second representative during drilling or completion operations. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Under general supervision provides onsite services by measuring, and testing the running of fluid mixing and pumping, including technical analysis and controlling fluid properties. Conducts all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values. Maintains fluid properties on rigsites by testing fluid properties accurately. Maintains inventory at customer well sites. Must provide effective customer service by providing rig-site customers and coordinators information regarding the progress of a rig site and create/implement solutions to rig site problems. Provides ongoing support to assist operations in providing our customers the most effective, environmentally safe drilling fluids available while optimizing the well-bore construction process and maximizing our customers' production. Performs other related duties as required. Conducts all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of the applications of Drilling Fluids and the duties of a Drilling Fluids Engineer. Industry experience and product line training a bonus. Good mechanical aptitude. Intermediate to advanced math and computer skills. Ability to work well and communicate well with others. Able to work a rotating shift of 14 days on / 14 days off. Able to fly and drive to worksites as required. Baker Hughes will consider candidates living in the Mainland 48 States. Preference given to those living near UT, CO, WY, ND, SD, ID, CA, NV, NM. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Two year Technical Degree a bonus. Other Details Employee must successfully pass instructor led drilling fluids, reservoir fluids, or environmental services classes. The employee will also undertake computer based training, HSE and compliance training.
