Role Synopsis
At Baker Hughes, this position is responsible for ensuring that the Baker Hughes operations exceed expectations and customer's requirements. To maximize the company's market share and profits by facilitating cross product line solutions when applicable. To maintain and grow the company's status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Provide skilled level support for the product line(s), technical selling, key field product application, well prognosis and/or completion product performance.
Assist with prototype tool applications and new product market introductions.
Investigate unusual or unsatisfactory product performance to determine root cause and preventative action.
Complete advanced well bore seminar and continue training in other product lines.
May be lead engineering/technical position in region or area. (Field Service Personnel not included).
Handle special projects as assigned.
Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values.
Consult with sales personnel and customers to determine appropriate course of action in regard to job design.
Prepare job recommendations based on the available job criteria and knowledge of disciplines and past performance.
Design deepwater cement treatments utilizing supporting software as in-house engineer.
Prepare PowerVison cost estimates.
Prepare End of Well Reports and BOD's incorporating lessons learned.
Coordinate Gulf Coast Region lab and generate pilot and field blend tests, mud/spacer compatibility tests as appropriate.
Liaise between customer, Region cement lab and operations.
Develop pre and post - well presentations for customers.
Introduce all BHI product lines to customer through coordination of lunch and learns.
Develop knowledge of Deepwater GOM sedimentary basins: major oil/gas fields and formation lithology/ reservoir properties within each basin.
Read and study current and historical technical papers of relevance.
Develop knowledge of API RP-65 II and all associated regulations for OCS cementing.
Participate in technical society (e.g., SPE) functions, study groups, etc.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3+ years related experience or equivalent.
A minimum of 24 months oilfield experience, including time as a Field Engineer and/or District Technical Supervisor.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Skilled level knowledge of product lines and proper application of tools. Specifically down to oil well cementing.
Knowledge of deepwater cementing, foam cement design, gas migration cement design, synthetic drilling fluid/spacer compatibility as per API RP-65 II a must.
Working knowledge of Power Vision, CemFacts, WellTemp, Isovision and other applicable engineering software.
Intermediate skills or better in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and time management skills required.
Thorough understanding of down hole hydraulics and rig operations.
Proficient use of computer based programs related to application of products.
Good problem solving skills.
Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
