Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:
The IT Architect Sr (Segment Architect) has the responsibility for architectural design and documentation of specific business problems or organizations. A Segment Architect re-uses the output from all other Systems/Solutions/Enterprise architects, joining detailed technical solutions to the overall architectural landscape.
Following are some of the key responsibilities of the Segment Architect

· The Segment Architect provides enterprise-level business solutions in a given domain, such as compliance, finance, human resources, sales, etc. or on enterprise-level technology solutions for business architecture, applications architecture or infrastructure architecture.
· The Segment Architect develops domain strategies
· The Segment Architect will be responsible of define and guide the creation of standards and models and enforce the application of these standards across the domain
The Segment Architect often leads a group of the Systems Architects and/or Solution Architects related to a given domain.
Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high level systems strategies. Broad and deep knowledge of available technologies, systems design and business processes. Demonstrated high degree of business acumen and understanding of business applications used in a large, diverse business organization. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Solid teaming and collaboration skills.
Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's degree in business, technical or equivalent field with 10+ years' experience in business processes and systems architecture and design.
· Understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman
· The IT architect will preferably have a certification in one or more architecture disciplines (infrastructure, application, information of business architecture)
· The IT architect will preferably have a minimum of 4 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry
· Minimum three years of Metadata Strategy / Architecture experience
· Requires strong technical leadership and the ability to Coach/Mentor less experience technical team members
· Demonstrated knowledge of Information Lifecycle Management
· Strong knowledge of and experience with business intelligence/analytics and data warehouse concepts, techniques, and methodologies
· Significant experience in designing complex data models using relational and star schemas. OLAP Cube experience (SAP BW, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata)
· Knowledge of Business Intelligence front-end tools (SAP BI tools, Microsoft SSRS, Power Pivot, & Performance Point, & Tibco Spotfire)
· Database Performance Tuning Experience for large volumes of data and network latency
· 7 + years of experience building logical and physical data model, experience with data architecture
· Experience in modeling Operational Data Stores, Staging Areas, Central Repositories and Data Marts
· Data modeling competency in both third normal form and Dimensional Modeling techniques
· Understanding of data distribution and Distributed Data Management concepts
· Business rules modeling experience
· Experience with in-memory databases is a plus
· Understanding of Big Data concepts is a plus.
