Job Description:
|
Maintains repairs and troubleshoots production machinery (e.g., CNC mills and lathes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems) and the facility infrastructure.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or equivalent training and/or experience.
5-7 years machine tool experience (G&L 8000, Siemens or equivalent) and mechanical drive train and hydraulic component experience required.
5-7 years machine shop experience preferred
High degree of ability to read Parts manuals, Assembly instructions, trouble shooting guides, Hydraulic schematics, Pneumatic schematics, and Electrical schematics.
Proficient with electrical test and diagnostic equipment (volt meters, ammeter, oscilloscope, AC drives) Knowledge of the operation and experience troubleshooting PLC's and PC controllers.
Proficiency in making electrical and electronic machine repairs
Working knowledge of pumps and high pressure test systems
Good mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on pumps, shafts, bearings and spindles.
Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools
Good mechanical understanding and the ability to work on electrical circuits, motors, and circuits
Experience using presses, overhead cranes, pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.
Good trouble-shooting and communication skills, e.g., evaluating symptoms, determining root causes.
Critical thinking ability associated with decisions on repairs verses replacing components
Excellent safety skills. Leads safety efforts in working conditions and safe work practices site wide, e.g., writes JSA's , safety audits, understands and takes lead role in lock-out/tag-out procedures, .
Shop environment with exposure to power machinery, heights, high temperature, pressurized equipment (low and High), high noise levels, moving components, grease, dirt and sharp objects. Works 40 - 60 hours per week.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Describe amount & frequency of physical requirements of the position (i.e. lifting, pushing, climbing) Numerous times daily, position requires standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling and lifting of 30 - 50 pounds.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Performs mechanical troubleshooting and determines repairs needed to restore the equipment to safe and efficient operating condition.
Repairs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production machinery.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned machines to provide increased machine up-time.
Performs troubleshooting on CNC controls and drives.
Performs accuracy verifications on critical machinery to ensure machines are capable of producing parts to required specifications.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices excellent housekeeping in work area.
Continues to learn trade and existing equipment, and infrastructure on site.
Troubleshoots and repairs facilities infrastructure as assigned.
Demonstrates leadership in safety, TPM, and other change processes assigned by supervision.
