Technical Support Manager
Location: Iraq - Basrah
Job Synopsis
At Baker Hughes, this position is responsible for ensuring that Baker Hughes operations exceed expectations and customers' requirements. To maximize company's market share and profits by facilitating cross product line solutions when applicable. To maintain and grow the company's status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry.
Role and Responsibilities.
· Provide regular technical service on existing applications as well as on new projects, performance monitoring of existing applications.
· Identify new product opportunities and development strategies.
· Execution of field and lab tests which have been agreed with the technical manager.
· Preparation of extensive technical reports which are in time and accurate.
· Required to make independent decisions on acceptability of measured results which determine the effectiveness of applied programs.
· Carry out system surveys / system health checks for OFC applications and recommend corrective action together with a comprehensive report.
· Troubleshoots and corrects systems that are out of the customer provided specifications.
· Determine the need to call in resources from additional support groups (Technology) if required.
· Participate in customer meetings for new applications or treatment program status.
· Maintain laboratory equipment to be sure it is fully functional. Maintain stock of required laboratory consumables and reagents.
· Installation (or supervision of installation) and servicing of monitoring equipment.
· Co-ordination with Technical Service Groups and assisting the account managers to issue comprehensive sales oriented reports and recommendations.
· Keeping up to date personal knowledge with technical development.
· Handle special projects as assigned; act as part of the team and support team efforts to fulfill customer requirements.
Skills and Experience
· Proficient use of computer based programs related to application of products.
· Good working English - Italian native speaker
· Chemistry Background
· Good interpersonal skills
· Team spirit
· Flexible personality
· Ability to create a professional image with the client
· Prepared for field work and international travel
· Clean driving license
· Able to pass BOSIET course for offshore work (helicopter survival)
· Experience in similar position outside the oil industry or any experience in the oil industry is wanted; the ideal candidate has both.
Qualifications
· Bachelor degree or equivalent within a chemistry or chemical engineering
· 3 - 5 years oilfield experience.
