Job Description:
Company is a leader in the exploration and development of shale-based oil and natural gas resources in the U.S., with properties concentrated primarily in the Haynesville Shale and Lower Bossier Shale of Northwest Louisiana and East Texas, the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas, and the Permian Basin Shale in West Texas.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under limited review, this position will be responsible for handling drilling assignments in the Haynesville Shale.  

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for:

    • Obtaining and maintaining subsurface information related to drilling activity in an assigned region.
    • Duties include, but are not limited to, acting as the Project leader responsible for:
    • Well Planning;
    • AFE preparation;
    • Preparation of drilling procedures;
    • Implementation of well plans;
    • Daily oversight of rig activities with on-site consultants;
    • Monitoring and tracking daily costs to ensure project stays within budget and that field reported costs are full and accurate;
    • Monitoring drilling activity through daily reports;
    • Assist operating management in troubleshooting drilling challenges.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • To be considered for this position, you must possess:
    • A minimum of eight years of experience as a drilling engineer with an Oil and Gas Operator;
    • A B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering;
    • Extensive directional drilling experience is required; horizontal drilling experience is preferred.
    • Excellent knowledge of rig operations
    • The ability to interact and communicate effectively with all professional disciplines, including land, geology, management, clerical, and field personnel
    • Minimum on-site presence required
    • In addition to the tasks outlined in this job description, you may be assigned other responsibilities as needed.
