Job Description:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Turret Engineer for a 2-3 year opportunity in Houston, Texas.

Job Description

    • To analyze, determine and specify the moorings, turret, mechanical and piping engineering requirements and considerations applicable to the products and proposals and advise on appropriate equipment
    • To design efficient turret mooring systems and equipment which can be realized safely and economically
    • To produce, organize and co-ordinate the production of turret and piping system deliverables, calculation reports, PFDs and P&IDs
    • Supervise the work done by engineering subcontractors, equipment suppliers and shipyards
    • Produce specifications for subcontractors and class societies
    • Conduct evaluations of vessels suitability based on limited information and short inspection visits
    • Conduct environmental, operational or performance tests on turret and piping equipment
    • To liaise with classification societies and other regulatory bodies involved with safety, integrity and legality of projects
    • Maintain and co-ordinate repair of turret and piping equipment
    • Leading teams and taking on additional responsibilities when required

Skills & Experience

    • Good knowledge of turret moorings and associated mechanical and piping systems of all types of floating production unit
    • Working knowledge of marine engineering, naval architecture and process disciplines and their interfaces with turret engineering discipline
    • Capable of performing quick early evaluations of vessel suitability based on limited information and short inspection visits
    • Good knowledge of applicable marine and floating production regulations - especially class/flag requirements
    • Good communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities:

    • Considerable offshore industry experience with some with FPSO contractor or shipyard engaged in floating production services
    • Must have worked on at least one floating production vessel project from concept to completion
    • Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering or equivalent
