Job Description:
SUMMARY

The land technician supports land activities associated with new leasing, modification and farmout programs by researching and documenting farmouts, leases, ROWs, joint ventures and other land records and operates as liaison between drilling/leasing and land administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (may include other duties as assigned)

    1. Reviews and sets up working land files for new leases, joint venture/acquisitions, modifications, ROWs and other contractual agreements;
    2. Prepares LPR report packages and forwards to land administration for review and entry into electronic database;
    3. Consolidates and distributes well/partner reports
    4. Scheduling of calendars to ensure the timely tracking election of well prices and responses
    5. Researches and documents lease records, land wells files and contractual agreements to provide information required to support the Landman staff of both the leasing and drilling programs;
    6. Assists Landman in tracking needed elements to perform leasing and modification acquisitions including preparation of agreements, assignments, due diligence research and other miscellaneous land agreements;
    7. Provides administrative support to the Landman staff/department;  Set up partner meetings, prepare presentations
    8. Assists Land department personnel in review of contractor invoices, coding to appropriate AFE and tracking of AFE cost relating to the Leasing program; and
    9. Completes other land related projects as required to support leasing and Land administration staff

REQUIREMENTS

Education

    • Minimum high school diploma with experience or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.

Other Requirements

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of SharePoint preferred
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • High degree of initiative, attention to detail and accuracy, timeliness
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to manage projects, follow through on assignments and manage deadlines
    • Ability to multi-task deal with multiple priorities and time sensitive issues in an effective manner

Physical Demands

    • Regularly required to sit, talk or hear.
    • Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
    • Close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment  

    • Regularly works in office environment.
    • Noise level is usually moderate.
