The specifics and description for this position are as follows:

  • The Quality Assurance individual is one of the key positions within the client's team which will oversee and ensure all contractors/subcontractors adhere to the client's specifications, welding processes/procedures, coating/painting procedures and quality control programs.
  • Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) of engineered equipment and critical materials
  • Responsible for supervision of full complement of QA discipline inspectors i.e. mechanical, electrical, pipe and structural welding.
  • Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Contractor/Subcontractor Quality Control Program.
  • Principles of ISO - standards as stipulated in the client's project specifications.
  • Monitor Quality Control implementation by Fabricators/ Contractors/Suppliers.
  • Frequent audits of contractors quality process and work process.
  • Liaise with PMT on issues regarding project quality, technical input on industry codes and standards.
  • Frequent audit of quality control data to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for audit item tracking and closeout reporting tool.
  • Responsible for final contractor document Turn Over.
  • Participating in the review and comment of site quality related documents and other site documents and recommending approval to the Site QA Lead when required.
  • Attending pre-fabrication/pre-inspection meetings as required.
  • Evaluating the conformance of products and services to specified requirements and the performance of personnel and organizations during the production and/or delivery of products and services.
  • Monitoring inspection activities at the site to ensure all inspection points required by the ITP are adhered to by the Contractor and the required notifications are provided and notifying the Site QA Lead of any missed inspection points or lack of notification.
  • Reporting and recording the activities monitored/witness and the results of these activities.
  • Issuing IRNs as required for all accepted products prior to release and shipment and forwarding the IRNs to the Site QA Lead.
  • Notifying the Site QA Lead immediately of any nonconforming situations noted during inspections that are not documented by the Contractor internally via its NCR system.
  • Verifying that all Contractor NCRs requiring approval have been approved by the client in accordance with client's Site Nonconformance Reporting Procedure and that client approved NCR dispositions are satisfactorily implemented and the NCR is closed.
  • Reviewing Contractor's documentation on a regular basis and subsequently verifying all required documentation is included in the Contractor's final data book prior to release of the product.
  • All documents reviewed shall be signed and dated by the Site QA Inspector with the added notation of ''witnessed'' or ''reviewed'' as applicable.
  • Completing and signing all fabrication GOC documents and submitting them to the Site QA Lead for final signature.
  • Confirming receipt of all project quality alerts and adhering to or implementing the requirements.
  • Issuing weekly reports in Deepwater Docs per the Project Team direction.


The standards and requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Must have at least 5 years experience in the QA area of offshore design concepts for O&G industry.
