As a Halliburton Electrical/Electronics Technical Advisor, you are not only armed with authority - you are an authority. You are considered a subject matter expert in the application of standard electrical/electronic components. Share your expertise in analysis, modification and designs for multiple projects and/or projects of great complexity. This role calls for someone with the ability to trade off innumerable, complex, highly interdependent variables and who can make timely decisions. Provide leadership in technical solutions, new approaches to problems encountered. You may lead design teams, as well as give technical input into electrical and/or electronic hardware and/or firmware design, modification, testing and support of downhole tools and surface systems. A desire for variety in working conditions is essential, as this job occasionally involves physical exertion, outside work and may include routine travel.

Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or similar discipline and a minimum of 10 years related experience are required for the position. A master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or similar discipline and license/charter as a Professional Engineer are preferred.

- involved in designing downhole firmware and electronics for well logging applications including but not limited to nuclear particle (high energy gamma and neutron) detection, downhole acoustic data acquisition and processing, variety of resistivity measurements and formation/fluid sampling systems.
- a solid history of technical accomplishments; a demonstrated ability to commercialize technology
- Experience in design for high temperature applications is desirable. The experience should include: sensor interface, sensor data acquisition systems, A/D, D/A, high speed Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), FPGA preferably ACTEL, VHDL language for FPGA programming, C and/or C++ and assembly programming language for processors, algorithms for digital filters, I/O communications (SPORT, CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, RS232), Flash memory, Design and development of digital telemetry systems and error correction techniques, embedded system design and coding experience with typical DSP and Microcontrollers. High temperature (175°C+) circuit design and grounding and shielding knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with sensors including theory, technology and specifications as well as experience designing sensor interface is desirable. In addition knowledge of small signal design, pre-amplifiers, analog filters, signal conditioning and power supplies would be a plus.
