Job Description:
|
|
Background:
Vision Oil & Gas Limited manages the development of oil and gas fields on behalf of operators, specialising in those fields which, for a variety of commercial and technical reasons, have been difficult to develop. Vision has established a reputation with its clients for its dedication, drive, ingenuity and, most importantly, the high calibre of its team.
The company is currently managing a number of oil and gas field developments for different operators, including the management and execution of the Orlando Field Development on behalf of a small UK independent.
Vision has been managing the project to date with a small, largely part-time team, and is now looking to recruit a number of key individuals to carry the project forward into the execution phase and who, it is hoped, would then remain with the company for the longer term. The roles are available on a staff or contract basis, subject to discussion.
Role and Responsibilities:
Key member of the Project Management Team reporting directly to the Project Manager.
Responsible for all aspects of the pipelay and installation contracts, in particular: • Manages the pipelay and installation contracts to ensure that the works are executed in accordance with the contracts, the development Basis of Design and the agreed schedule and budget • Manages the information flow between the client/Vision Project Management Team and the contractors to ensure that technical queries are addressed in a timely manner and that key design information is available to all the relevant parties • Works closely with the Host Interface/Topsides and Subsea Controls and Equipment Engineers to ensure that all third party interfaces are addressed
The role will involve regular travel. The client and Vision's offices are in Guildford and during the first few months it is envisaged that there will be a need to spend considerable time with the Project Team, becoming familiar with the project and assisting with the tendering and planning. Once the project has moved into execution the workload will shift to the contractors and from this point on it is likely that the individual will be required to spend the bulk of their time in the contractors' offices. Requirements: Degree qualified with an engineering background (preferably mechanical).
Minimum 10 years offshore oil and gas experience gained principally with contractors, some experience of working directly for operators desirable.
Extensive experience of pipeline and subsea projects (engineering, fabrication and construction).
Experience of working in integrated project teams in a lead or management position.
Fluent in English.
Commercially aware. Experienced in tendering, awarding and managing engineering contracts with values in the region of £30MM.
More Details: UK or EU citizen/legally eligible to work in the UK.
Driver's licence.
Offshore medical and survival course certificates (medical as a minimum).
References will be required.
Note, for a staff position to be considered the individual must be based within a 25 mile radius of Guildford. Duration: 18 months + Start: asap
