Job Description:
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Cranes and Lifting Equipment The candidate shall have minimum 5 years experience with CRANE equipment, preferably within the upstream oil and gas industry.
The candidate will be responsible for the following areas and tasks: • Maintenance of the CRANE equipment and ensure timely completion of activities to the specified relevant standards and specifications. • Function as a technical focal point for the CRANE equipment. • Organising spare parts within the area of responsibility • Updating of stock cards • Maximizing reliability of the equipment within area of responsibility. • Accountable for maintenance cost within area of responsibility. • Implementation of planned, preventive maintenance procedures and guidelines. • Support to the onshore and offshore organisation on CRANE equipment related issues. • Liaise with contractors and vendors and maintain cost effective and high quality service. • Remain updated on technical development within the area of responsibility.
In this position, the incumbent will have an opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge in the following areas: • Management of contractors from different countries and with miscellaneous cultural backgrounds. • Participate in further development of computerised maintenance systems for onshore and offshore use. • Further developments of technical skills within area of responsibility.
Main accountabilities: • Contribute and support goals to be incident free • Implement documents regarding preventative maintenance, inspections and testing to be performed on the field cranes • Coordinate planned crane maintenance activities for the field in conjunction with production, construction and maintenance departments on and offshore • Manage specialised crane maintenance vendors and manufacturers for planned and ad-hoc maintenance / upgrade activities and ensure company standards and legislation is adhered to • Liaise with classification societies / certifying authorities where required • Participate in and or lead investigations for all crane related incidents across the field • Visit platforms in the field as required • Liaise with offshore Maintenance Supervisors to support: • Adequate technical advice is given concerning the crane • The management of spares to ensure that adequate spares are available for hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems associated with cranes • Diagnose and manage the diagnosis of faults and give the appropriate advice • Liaise with certification, classification and statutory bodies to ensure that the crane remain compliant with required standards: • Liaise with warehouse or 3rd Party suppliers to ensure: Timely forwarding of critical spares and equipment Crane and Equipment Upgrades: • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors to support the field • Manage the generation of appropriate FMECA analysis for crane and hydraulic equipment
Maintenance and Repair: • Support crane and equipment maintenance regimes with a focus on reliability • Direct the equipment maintenance focus using conventional reporting and the use of condition monitoring • Provide technical and emergency response support for management and incident investigation.
General: • Support Maintenance Supervisors, Production Supervisors and Crane/Hydraulic Technicians with specialist technical advice on all aspects of cranes/hydraulic equipment. Requirements: The candidate must be a team player, initiative, and self-motivating, enterprising, systematic, goal oriented and energetic. Furthermore the candidate must have strong collaboration as well as planning skills. Have a high focus on safety and cost control. More Details:
