Subsea Pipeline Engineer

Our client is looking for a Subsea Pipeline Engineer to handle detail engineering and offshore installation.

Education: BS, MS optional, BSc(Hons) or MSc (UK)

The Subsea Pipeline Engineer will have the following responsibilities: Help lead the Incident and Injury Free culture development with the pipeline contractors. Help complete pipeline bid evaluations. Help finalize the contract documents including finalizing the details related to scope of work, specifications and drawings. Oversee the pipelines detailed design work of the pipeline contractor. Oversee procurement and coating of pipeline materials and procurement of subsea power cables by pipeline contractor. Provide expertise in design, constructability, operability and reliability of the pipeline systems associated with pipelines. Experience with pipeline thermal expansion issues and the associated constructability issues related to pipeline and tie-in spool configuration and fatigue quality welding requirements will be a plus for prospective candidates, but not a requirement. Assist in the preparation of detailed installation & construction schedules and review the contractor's schedules to ensure conformance with the overall project schedule. Perform constructability reviews and advise other members of the project team of ways to improve the design for ease and lower cost of construction using a thorough knowledge of the capabilities of international suppliers, fabricators and constructors. Oversee offshore pipeline construction activities. This position will require international travel during 2012 and 2013.

Offshore Pipeline installation work is planned to begin in the Fall of 2013. The position is planned to become a 28/28 rotational basis during the offshore construction activities.

Potential candidates' desired experience should include: At least 10 years experience in subsea pipelines.
