Job Description:
OPAMP Information Management LLC, based in Houston, Texas since 2004 provides Information Management Services for major capital projects in the process industry.  

Our employees have experience as project engineers and designers in addition to information management which allow us to provide services spanning from conceptual design to operations. Due to increased demand of technical expertise in the oil & gas sector we are presently soliciting resumes to fill several Information Management positions.

Responsibilities

Define or customize specifications, plans and procedures to suit the project's scope, participants, contracting strategy, and other unique project execution factors:

    • Contract specifications
    • Procedures which enable execution processes while maintaining good Information Management practices
    • Procedures to ensure proper definition of information requirements and their fulfillment.
    Design, EPC or construction contractor oversight as it relates to Information Management, including engineering databases, documentation, drawings, etc.:
    • Setting or implementing coordination procedures (correspondence, document control, data exchange, etc.) between company and contractors
    • Oversight of company portion of coordination procedures
    • Assess contractor progress versus expectations, coordinate corrective action by contractors as needed
    Ensure achievement of project and corporate Information Management goals:
    • Champion the understanding and adoption of corporate Information Management standards (document and tag numbering, database and other information requirements) and procedures by the project team, operations and other participants
    • Coordination with other functional areas (procurement, contracts, engineering, quality management, etc.)
    • Ensure the project 'systems of record' are properly and completely populated
    System implementation or customization
    • Configuration of Information Management related systems to support project requirements
    • Coordination of IT and telecoms issues with corporate or third party service providers

Minimum Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.  Extensive experience as an engineering designer or technician may qualify.  A purely IT background is not acceptable.
    • Minimum five years experience in an engineering project environment as a design engineer, designer, cad coordinator, commissioning engineer, project controls, cost engineer, or procurement/logistics.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate within all levels of project including management and operations teams.
    • Experience in Interpretation and implementation of customer specifications into design and administrative activities
    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize a varied workload
    • Definition of design, engineering, procurement or administrative procedures
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technology problems, reach conclusions, and recommend sound, practical, cost- and time-effective solutions

Preferred Qualifications

One or more of the following are greatly desired for this position

    • Lead engineer or CAD coordinator experience;  alternately responsibility for information management on a major project or for an operating facility, or corporate unit
    • 2 years management responsibility at the team level
    • Field experience in commissioning, engineering support of construction, or similar
    • Previous responsibility to define or comply with contractual requirements including management of change procedures during design, construction or commissioning
    • Site / facility experience in support of construction, commissioning, or as-building
    • Experience in coordinating activities of vendors and contractors
    • 2 years design systems (3D Cad, intelligent P&ID, electrical, instrument or mechanical applications, data warehouse, document management etc.) as a subject matter expert, support, coordinator / implementer, integrator, etc.
