This is a North Slope position working a 2/2 rotation. The FMP Scheduler/Project Controls position will be responsible for a comprehensive schedule control system, including day-to-day planning activities and integration of contractor schedules into the overall project schedule, as well as play a key role in delivering a complete suite of cost-control services and financial support for field managed projects.
Field Managed Projects (FMP) in North Area is looking to hire a combined Scheduler/Cost Controls position to support its organization. This position will report directly to the FMP Team Lead (TL) and will be responsible for managing an integrated projects schedule and delivering cost controls. Preferred candidate would have strong project management skills and experience with projects of varied magnitude. Critical roles and responsibilities include:
• Manage integrated projects schedule and provide FMP TL with clear line of sight to the "bigger picture"
o Work with Project Leads to build and populate integrated projects schedule over rolling 8Q time horizon
o Responsible for interface with integrated field planning systems
o Communicate potential delays and issues to FMP TL in a timely manner
• Work with contractors to manage resource deployment against planned FMP work set
o Ensure that resource availability does not create avoidable schedule delays
o Provide line of sight to resource needs so that FMP TL can actively manage resource levels with contract providers
• Serve as single point of accountability for monthly development and delivery of performance metrics dashboard that aggregates available KPIs, including schedule adherence and cost over-runs on AFEs
• Coordinate across multiple service providers to develop accurate cost estimates
• Act as primary interface with cost analysts/advisors to ensure all costs are captured and tracked
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop project planning, scheduling, and cost controls strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Client and contractor roles and responsibilities and adhering to segment financial, business, and project processes
- Provide the necessary schedules to ensure the development of proper estimates and studies within a project stage and for sanction
- Coordinate and develop appropriate internal and external schedule benchmarks and technical limits
- Prepare and implement project-wide work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS)
- Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS / CBS
- Ensure the preparation and development of appropriate detail and summary project control schedules
- Collect and compile progress/cost data and develop cost-control worksheets/reports for review by delivery teams
- Provide cost input to commitment close-out process
- Review financial data related to invoice payments, purchase orders, material deliveries and other financial data
- Coordinate and develop project work-in-place (WIP), commitment and estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts
- Coordinate and develop project annual-spend projections, cost reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Assist and prepare cost performance management data
- Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure adherence to best project practices
- Work with Financial Control and Accounting (FC&A) function to ensure implemented processes conform to internal control evaluation (ICE) requirements
- Provide cost/schedule input to and implement cost/schedule element of the change management procedure and risk management plan
- Link risk process to change process and estimate
- Prepare and implement project-wide cost/progress measurement and reporting system, including roll-up levels, section weightings, and reporting cycle calendar
- Develop/issue various reports and prepare/ present project information to appropriate stakeholder
