Job Description:
Hoover Container Solutions; an innovator in the industrial packaging market, is seeking a HSE to join our manufacturing team in Houston, Texas.  The HSE Coordinator  is responsible for assisting in the implementation of safety and health programs to promote a strong safety culture with a manufacturing setting.  Additionally this position has responsibilities for the management of environmental reporting and several day to day programs, as they relate to safety, health and environmental compliance.  Responsibilities for reporting compliance and documentation for all government agencies, I.E. OSHA, EPA, SARA Title III, Form R, etc.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1.  Assists supervisors to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections and citations.
    2.  Investigates all injuries in conjunction with Supervisors & Director of Human Resources.  
    3.  Evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programs.
    4.  Overviews company accident statistics and make recommendations for correction of problem areas.
    5.  Plans and directs safety training.
    6.  Serve as technical and regulatory expect for proactively managing environmental issues.
    7.  Responsible for helping to create and maintain an atmosphere of environmental and safety excellence and delivery strong performance.
    8.  Conducts safety and environmental audits, implements corrective actions to address non conformities.
    9.  Assists with resolving compliance and reporting matters.  Spotlights performance excellence and address situations where performance fails to meet expectations.
    10. Produce timely, accurate, and precise reports and documentation.
    11. Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure.
    12. Conduct and lead all safety meetings.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications of the successful EH&S Specialist prefer a Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree with Experience in Industrial Safety, or related field with 5-7 years professional level EH&S program management experience in the manufacturing industry. Also, the EH&S candidate should possess a working knowledge of Manufacturing industry standards and practices such as: OSHA recordkeeping (OSHA 300log), NFPA, ASME, API, ANSI, NEC, JSA, EPA, NIOSH, Lockout-Tag out, Hazard Assessment, Hazard Communications. The EH&S Specialist must be able to analyze and interpret data, exemplify problem solving skills, and be a good communicator with all levels in the plant.
