VersaTech has a need for several Mechanical Commissioning Technicians to perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for an Offshore Oil and Gas Structure. The unit is currently being fabricated in Louisiana and will be shipped to West Africa. The tentative schedule is to mobilize in March and work through the end of 2012 in the fabrication yard as part of the Commissioning team. After the deck arrives in West Africa, the Technicians will re-mobilize for the 3 to 4 months of start-up and commissioning activities.
This position requires personnel that are flexible and willing to take an active hands on role when required. Some of the activities include:
• Work with Vendor Representatives to oversee and assist with equipment alignment and other Millwright activities
• Run in testing on motors, compressors and turbines
• Pre-start-up chemical cleaning and flushing of equipment
• Equipment Final Alignment cold/hot
• Nitrogen Leak Testing
• Hydro-testing
• Facility first fills
• Preservation of equipment
• Miscellaneous minor construction
Work schedule will be six days per week, 10 hours per day on land, and then seven days per week, 12 hours per day for offshore.
Must have a minimum of 10 years experience performing Mechanical construction activities in the Oil and Gas industry with at least 5 years performing Commissioning activities.
