We currently deal with established Oil and Gas companies, Civil Engineering and Build contractors
The Project Controls Lead is responsible for assisting the Offshore Programs and Projects (OPP) Manager in managing key programs and projects variables related to progress including cost and schedule control. Additionally, you will be developing and maintaining cost baselines and schedules, from project conception through to completion, by coordinating with all project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
You possess strong computer literacy in project management and scheduling software such as SAP, Kildrummy Cost Manager, Primavera P6 and/or MS Project. Knowledge of project management principles, the ability to interpret cost and schedule data, and skills in presenting complex data in support of project decisions is also required.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and application of project schedules and project controls procedures for use, starting with the front end design through start-up and commissioning phases of projects. Project Controls supports the OPP team by ensuring adequate communication on the project.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Creating, reviewing, and/or maintaining all OPP team project reporting and controls policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Coordinating front end conceptual planning meetings for major projects.
• Managing the development of approved OPP Budget and AFE Cost Estimates and recast into yearly Operating Budgets and AFE budgets.
• Executing the development, implementation and maintenance of project schedules.
• Handling Contract Administration activities related to major engineering and construction contracts.
• Coordinating Tie-Back commercial activities in relation to Cost Control and Commitment Reporting Process (CCCR).
• Tracking and reporting on Project Committed, Incurred and Forecast Costs against approved Budgets and prepare Project Consolidated Cost Reports.
• Implementing and managing Change Management Process.
• Managing all project progress analysis and reporting.
• Auditing schedules to ensure quality and accuracy of engineering and construction contractors' schedules.
• Creating project cost estimates.
• Mentoring, coaching and supervising assigned Project Controls staff.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or relevant field.
• Senior level (10-20 years') related experience with capital projects in project controls, project reporting, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
• Capability in Project Management/Cost Control Software including SAP and Kildrummy Cost Manager.
• Understanding of software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Understanding of PMI project management principles will be an asset.
• Previous supervisory experience, coaching and guiding staff, would be beneficial.
• Exposure to engineering project environments within a variety of industries and sizes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
