Job Description:
|
- Provides leadership for Operational Excellence and Process Safety improvement efforts at the Upgrader. Advises the Upgrader
- Leadership team on safe, efficient and reliable operations.
- Advises the Upgrader Operations Manager:
- Sets clear expectations for the Operation Superintendents and Supervisors
- Emphasizes a "Zero is Attainable" safety culture including frequent walkabouts and interaction with the workforce.
- Direct supervises the Process Operations Advisors
- Reestablishes Operations Routine Duties and Operational Discipline
- Enhances and Establishes Outside Turnover Documentation
- Establishes and reinforces Critical Process Variable's as a tool for daily review.
- Reinforces procedure usage and establishes requirements for sign-offs
- Establishes clear controls for testing and bypassing of safety systems
- Establishes normal & safe operating limits and consequences of deviation
- Coaches Board Operators in review of deviations & documents efforts to get back in range
- Implements risk based mitigation steps for continued deviation.
- Establishes and monitors KPI's
- Establishes operational objectives and goals, and sets priorities and metrics for Operations & Maintenance in accordance with the Business Plan.
For example: safety, compliance with Policy 530, regulatory compliance, production throughput, operating expense and capital expenditures, and employee development.
Ensures high standards and performance for operations are maintained while balancing expense, risk, and profitability.
Works closely with Upgrader Leadership Team, Management Safety Committee, and the Upgrader OE Champion to drive the OE Shaping Plan and with goal of reducing incidents, improving reliability/efficiency and driving the Upgrader towards world class performance.
Has the primary responsibility for identifying work program and accompanying funding needs for Operating and Capital funds to execute Operability and Improvement Project Execution. Works with Operations, Technical Services and Maintenance group to reach alignment on priority of projects, funding amounts and resources required and execution schedule.
