Role Synopsis
This role is for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer located in Houston, Texas.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Plans and conducts research and development of standard engineering assignments.
- Assignments can be a significant portion of a larger project.
- Develops and implements new production methods.
- Recommends and implements improvements in the production process.
- Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes sound recommendations.
- Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications.
- May be the lead engineer on smaller project with some functional supervision.
- Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters.
- May be assisted by entry or junior level personnel.
- Assists in project planning and review.
- Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
- Assignments are reviewed for overall soundness and adherence to stated objectives. Handles special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Intermediate analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Basic project management skills.
- Sound working knowledge of principles, concepts, theories, and/or practices of applicable discipline.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year's related experience working in an assembly shop or assembly environment, troubleshooting technical and assembly issues such as non-compliant parts or assembly problems.
- 1 year of Solid Works, AutoCAD background strongly preferred.
- Basic analytical skills.
- 1 year of material stress analysis experience.
- SAP experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices of applicable discipline.
Other Details
Travel up to 5% of the time.
