 The Velosi Group, founded in 1982, provides quality assurance and quality control services to a number of leading national and multinational oil and gas companies. The Velosi Group operates globally through four principal offices in the USA, the UK, Malaysia and the UAE and has operational or representative offices in a further 27 countries worldwide.
Our Houston, TX office is currently seeking Third Party E&I Inspectors in various areas of Canada especially in the Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, and Saskatoon areas. LOCAL INSPECTORS ONLY PLEASE. Oil and gas industry experience required.
We need inspectors to work local adhoc assignments. These will vary in length and frequency, which please note.
Third party inspectors provide inspection services thru us for different clients. Reports are to be submitted within 24 hours of inspection visits.
Velosi is seeking a qualified individual for overseeing the QA/QC on behalf of our clients. They must have significant knowledge of Industry Codes related to Electrical Equipment, etc., and demonstrable experience in a similar position.
Skills required:
* Communication with coordinator to determine exact requirement of assignment including scope of work, deliverables, schedule and budget for assignment.
* Perform inspections at vendor location, ensuring quality of work
* Ensure that services provided are performed in accordance with project requirements and contract with the client
* Generate and process inspection reports, timesheets, and billing reports in a timely manner, complying with deadlines
* Must be detail oriented with a dedication to the quality control and quality assurance process.
* Must have the ability to understand and read complex design and fabrication plans and specifications
* Must have excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to communicate any/all technical issues to coordinators, client and fabrication facility.
* Expert skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe required.
* Must have proficient use of modern communication and computer equipment.
Ideal candidate has a background in handling inspections related to electrical components/equipment, as well as previous experience or in-depth familiarity with regards to witnessing electrical equipment testing, knowledge of materials and components. Should also have the ability to review electrical and instrumentation drawings for compliance to code/specification. Extensive practical experience is required, as well as extensive knowledge of industry standards, codes relating to electrical equipment and instrumentation.
Education: Minimum of an Associates Degree or similiar educational background preferred.
Must be proficient in English.
Minimum of 5 years experience inspecting electrical equipment for the oil and gas industry.
