Play a major role in the structural engineering and design of large modules/topsides for offshore oil and gas platform facilities, and in the development of Weight Control Documents. Must be able to take a hands-on role in the multi-discipline weight management of modules.
Department Operations
- May assist or be responsible for department operations activities such as: Encourage project team knowledge of and compliance with department guidelines and company procedures. Identify department issues and forward to department management team. Attempt to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and client issues before elevating to department management team. Review/forward expense claims to department management.
Requirements
- An Engineering Degree with a Structural/Naval/Mechanical/Electrical discipline is required. Play a major role in the development of Weight Control Documents. Must have an understanding of weight components in a weight-critical project. Must be able to take a hands-on role, in the multi-discipline weight management of very large offshore topside modules.
Both Greenfield and Brownfield work experience is required.
5 to 20 years offshore industry experience is preferred. Knowledge of weight aspects of modular units for offshore oil & gas platforms. Experience with module weighing, vendor interfacing, experience at fabrication yards and multi-didcipline coordination work.
Must have experience with EXCEL/ACCESS database weight management programs. Familiarity with offshore engineering/fabrication/installation practices and trends and a knowledge of PDMS Review is a plus.
