IT Position - Applications Developer - Calgary, AB, Canada

As a result of continuous growth, Savanna Energy is seeking a proactive, energetic individual for the role of Intermediate/Senior Application Developer, based in our Calgary office.  The position would suit an individual who is committed to their own development and keen to take advantage of the opportunities presented by an expanding organization.  Savanna encourages internal progression and prides itself on its innovative technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including all enhancements, new developments, as well as support and maintenance
• Developing, testing, documenting, and deploying new Windows applications using C#, .Net 4, Visual Studio 2010, and other tools
• Performing peer-to-peer code review, unit, and functional testing
• Communicating business requirements with technical team and aiding in the resolution of technical issues
• Supporting the database systems and taking shared ownership of software development methodology and practices

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Systems
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience as an Intermediate or Senior Application Developer
• Proven experience in using C#, .Net 4, Sharepoint 2010, and Visual Studio 2010
• Strong verbal and writing communication skills
• Thoroughness and an acute attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly, think logically, and understand abstract relationships,
• Should be self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks against tight deadlines
