SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for various duties including, but not limited to, the operational integrity, maintenance (preventive maintenance), installation and removal of mechanical systems/ components repair and documentation of the Heavy Lift equipment systems, vessel anchoring system, cranes components, pumps, electrical equipment, deck equipment such as winches, air tuggers and cranes, and auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps and water systems, piping, fittings, valves and emergency preparedness equipment. The ultimate objective of this position is to ensure that all mechanical systems remain operative throughout the operation and comply with safety, regulatory body and test standards.

Duties include the following:

    -Must perform all duties in a safe manner, observing safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment, at all times.
    -Follow written preventive maintenance procedures on all mechanical equipment and maintains records.
    -Troubleshoot equipment daily and takes immediate steps to correct any problems.
    -Operate equipment and engines as needed per testing procedures.
    -Comply with equipment check list as per inspection procedures.
    -Comply with lockout-tagout procedures for all equipment under repair.
    -Maintain inventory and inventory records for parts used on equipment repairs.
    - Perform continuous improvement process reviews to update and improve safety and equipment condition.
    -Communicates daily with the Lead Engineer and Chief Engineer on status of equipment repairs.
    -Performs any other duties as assigned by Lead Engineer and Chief Engineer.
    -Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with Quality Policies and Procedures and meeting Quality Objectives.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, the Engineer must satisfactorily demonstrate the following:

    -Must have the ability to interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematic drawings to component level without being at equipment.
    -Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, motors and valves and how they function in a working system.
    -Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level.
    -General mechanical and machinist knowledge Working knowledge of AC electrical systems, pumps, compressor, mechanical clutches and brakes.
    Working knowledge of 12 volt and 24 volt electrical systems and ability to trouble shoot down to the component level.
    - Ability to communicate to other technical people verbally and in writing.
    - Able to travel and work away from home on offshore platforms and or floating assets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The following physical demands are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Engineer must be able to:

    -Pass the required physical examination and mandatory drug test.
    - Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces and on steel decks, and in areas with vibration and noise.
    -Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
    -Specific vision requirements include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    -Employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment including hearing and respiratory protection and safety glasses

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The following work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the Engineer:

    -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions ranging from freezing to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
    - The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
    -The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
