The candidate can be expected to work as the Controls Engineering Manager in the Product Development and Engineering Group for Artificial Lift Systems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As the leader of the ESP Motor Control engineering team they will budget, plan, coordinate and implement all phases of complex Completions &Production development project(s) as a major component of a total Completion & Production system including new technologies of substantial monetary value where ensuring reliability, quality and delivery time are key. Responsible for administration and reporting of development orders as well as meeting the level of expectations set forth as part of the PDM process. Works in a global matrix environment responsible to insure quality, reliability, and other technology standards are exceeded. Insures the HS&E goals are met for both manufacturing and operations of high voltage cabinets. Works closely with marketing including the Product Line Marketing to insure product goals meet customer expectations, and take advantage of technology possibilities. They will champion artificial lift technology working with the Product Line Marketing in developing PDM Gate and customer presentations to insure the best in class solutions. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Leader who is able to motivate the team to a sense of urgency to complete projects on time and within budget. Strong sense of manufacturing economics to insure best of class products at the lowest BHI cost. Capable of assisting Product Line Management with strategic business concepts. Strong electronics background including hardware and embedded real time software. Understanding of AC variable frequency motor drives, including power semiconductors, drive topologies, and impact of drives on motors and power systems. Understanding of 3 phase power including power transformers, and AC induction motors. Communications protocol experience including MODBUS. Working knowledge of IT systems including Clarity and SAP. Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, and similar programs); advanced knowledge of MS Excel highly desired Strong problem solving and project management skills, Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally. Ability to work within a dynamic, team-based environment across multiple time zones and cultures. Provides training and mentoring to all Completions &Production personnel, supervising less experienced staff. Represents the company in outside technical forums. Publishes technical reports for internal and external use within industry. Analyzes appropriate or competitive patents and conceptualizes original ideas for patent protection. Able to travel internationally approximately 10-20%.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum BSEE or equivalent with 10+ years experience with at least 2+ years in management. Prefer 10+ years upstream oilfield experience.
