We are currently recruiting for a Technical Writer to join the Baker Hughes team supporting our Pressure Pumping product line in Calgary, Alberta. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Writing/editing/structuring mechanical engineering technical documentation Developing printed marketing materials Constructing web content Creating and editing graphics Creating animations Authoring Help for engineering software Assessing documentation quality and consistency Providing input on process improvement Printing and assembling technical documents and mechanical drawings Maintaining an inventory of department supplies Successful applicants will possess the following: Education/ Experience/Training Technical Writing Diploma/Degree (or equivalent education in a related field) 2-5 years experience Completion of courses in graphic design and document layout (or equivalent experience using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign) Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Skills/Knowledge Exceptional verbal and written English and communication skills Ability to analyze and restructure technical information Team player with focus on cooperation and collaboration Extremely detail-oriented Research and interviewing skills Ability to work efficiently and productively with minimal supervision when necessary Understanding of Help authoring principles and implementation Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Highly proficient in Adobe products (Acrobat, InDesign, Flash) Highly proficient in graphics software (Corel, Photoshop) At Baker Hughes we make a commitment to the success of each individual team member.
