Job Description:
NOMAC Drilling, a Chesapeake company, is seeking to fill the position of Drilling Field Safety Representative in the Eagle Ford Shale area of South Texas. The Field Safety Representative will focus on drilling safety and environmental conditions as they pertain to drilling operations. They will be located in South Texas and responsible for drilling rigs in that area. The candidate's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities
  • Serve as the point of contact for all safety and environmental issues on drilling locations
  • Investigate and report on all incidents that occur on drilling sites
  • Support drilling team by communicating company policies and programs to all drilling rig employees
  • Analyze safety and environmental trends to identify areas of improvement
  • Observe work habits for safety and environmental awareness
  • Conduct safety and environmental training for specific employees
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with contractor safety representatives, local, state and federal agencies
  • Actively participate in daily operations, conference calls, rig tours, and random drug and alcohol screenings
Requirements:
  • Preferred 5 + years as a safety representative in the drilling industry or an industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of both safety and environmental regulations as they pertain to the drilling industry
  • College degree held in safety and/or environmental is considered a plus
  • Prior rough necking experience and strong working knowledge of drilling operations is required
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and contractors
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel
  • Efficient with standard office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable preparing safety reports and presenting them to Management
  • Live or be willing to relocate to the operational area
