Job Description:
The Inventory Specialist develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. Incumbent will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals for one or more service locations. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update Oracle ERP parts planning tools in order to provide instant access to inventory and fulfillment data
  • Lead overall fulfillment improvement efforts utilizing Six Sigma & help with the organization fulfillment objectives
  • Interact/engage with all organizations to drive fulfillment improvement (backlog reduction, on-time percent improvement and inventory reduction)
  • Manage the business fulfillment performance metrics (backlog, on-time percent, and inventory) and measurements (variance to promise, cycle improvement, inventory turns, obsolescence, etc.)
  • Identify systemic business process issues driving negative fulfillment impact
  • Implement robust fulfillment improvement plans driven by root cause analyses, statistical analyses and metrics of fulfillment performance reporting tool (FPR), and using current and innovative programs (VMI, cycle time reduction, Lean, etc.)
  • Lead the weekly fulfillment monitoring, and drive improvement with them; identify other cross-business critical suppliers and ensure proper communication and status
  • Share best practices across service locations
  • Own and maintain Oracle ERP inventory and WIP tools
  • Understanding of part numbers and its attributes; ability to work with engineering as required for it
  • Coordinate workload with metrics & tracking tools and to ensure resources utilization toward team deliverables
  • Create internal reports used as pre-cursors to late deliverables to services and our end customers
  • Responsible for measurements and adherence in using ERP-based work processes/inventory control practices
  • Systematic elimination of off-system control methods for material control
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a transactional manufacturing or services position)
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in a fulfillment, transactional, or manufacturing/services role
Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior experience using Oracle ERP in a services environment
  • Strong excel skills
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred (GE internal)
  • Self-motivated with proven execution ability
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
