Job Description:

Health and Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager - Package up to circa £80,000 - Doha Qatar. Experience working within a H&S role on LNG/LPG tankers is essential. Responsibilities: - Develop, implement and administer a comprehensive Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Management system to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for employees and contractors. - Protect the Companies onshore and offshore assets and safeguard public health and the environment. - Identify potential risks that could restrict or terminate Company operations and develop procedures to mitigate the identified risks. - Provide professional safety, environmental and quality services to all the functions and operations of the Company. - These services include Risk Analysis, Safety Engineering, Fire Protection, health, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection, and Total Quality Management. - Serving as the "Management Representative", seeking quality and environmental certification in ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 for ongoing continuous improvement. - Responsible for ensuring that operation's meet State Environment Standards for Qatar and international legislation for shipping companies. - Manage Incident Investigation and Reporting. Tasks and Duties : - Supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHE&Q) Department. Perform supervisory functions at the level established by Management for the position. - Serve as "Management Representative" reporting to the Managing Director and the Senior Management team, work towards gaining certification from international industry bodies. - Monitor and enforce safety guidelines procedures and practices of Company assets. - Develop SHE&Q policies and standards interfacing with the Ship Manager and Joint Venture partners. Communicates approved policies & standards throughout the organisation. - Train, develop and direct the activities of SHE&Q staff, including development of local personnel for SHE&Q positions and career paths. - Review major projects to ensure risks are effectively identified and investigated using HAZOP or other systematic analysis technique. - Prepare appropriate Environmental Studies to ensure baselines are identified, potential impacts are accurately assessed, and proper control systems are implemented. - Review and evaluate impacts of existing or proposed environmental and safety laws, regulations. Obtains necessary Government approval's and permits for QGTC activities which involve environmental or safety matters. - Ensure development and monitor the effective implementation of SHE&Q programs and procedures to include, personnel safety, fire protection, environmental protection, regulatory compliance and emergency response. - Co-ordinate the reporting, investigation, follow-up and tracking of incidents, fatalities, injuries, property damage and near misses. Circulate experience sharing with partners. - Administer a comprehensive Review and Audit Program which evaluates the company's SHE&Q performance to identify, prioritise and address areas requiring improvement to enhance safety or environmental protection, minimize the potential for losses or business disruption and ensure regularity compliance. Co-ordinate internal controls to monitor status of improvements. - Represent the company at Government agencies, the public, shareholders, industry associations, and professional societies on safety, health and environmental issues. - Keep abreast of new technology and developments in the SHE&Q field and recommends new methods or products that will benefit the Company and its operations. Minimum Requirements : - Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline or Master Mariner and extensive SHE&Q courses to be a Qualified Environmental Professional. - Experience in SHE&Q work in the Hydrocarbon shipping industry and within supervisory positions. - Excellent written and spoken English.
