Job Description:

 Aerotek Energy Services is seeking Two Mechanical Engineers for our Offshore Drilling Company in the oil & gas industry. These positions are both DIRECT HIRES & located here in Houston, TX.
Our client is looking for Mechanical Engineers that focus on machine design, hydraulics and project engineering.
JOB DUTIES:
- Support relative to the repair/overhaul/modification/procurement of mechanical equipment and systems
- Perform failure analysis including review of service history/preventive maintenance, etc
- Hydraulics (3000 psi systems, hydraulic power units, troubleshooting, design)
- Pneumatics (air related controls, low and high pressure air compressors, design, troubleshooting)
- Structural analysis (Finite Element Analysis (FEA) used to analyze forces and stresses on steel)
- Machine design (sizing and selection of gears, cylinders, wire rope, etc.)
- Troubleshooting and system design
- Experience with ABS or DNV rules and codes
- Top drive, pipe racker, drawworks, crane
- Read and design schematics
- Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project or similar programs
- Prior experience with 4th & 5th generation dynamically positioned drilling units (semi-submersible and drill ship)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous work experience with drilling companies
- Hydraulic design experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Dynamic Positioning (DP)
- Houston based but heavy off-shore travel required (30-50%)
- 5+ years working experience
