 Leap29 currently have an excellent opportunity to work with an established Independent within the Exploration and Production Industry. Headquartered in the US they have strong operations in Latin America and are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead their projects in Peru.
The VP will have direct responsibility and accountability for the hands-on management of drilling and the day-to-day operations in Peru. The VP will have full operational responsibility and direct oversight in all areas, including Drilling (offshore & onshore), Engineering, Operations, Subsurface, Production, Construction, Field Logistics, Gas to Power, and QHSE.
The key areas of emphasis include planning and execution for the groups reporting to this position, and identifying and implementing lean and continuous improvement initiatives. The VP of Operations will work across functional lines to ensure on time delivery, quality, and cost efficiency of all productions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and successfully execute and maintain a system for the day-to-day management of the operation.
- Provide leadership in the development and hands-on execution of tactical and operational plans within operations, engineering, production, construction, subsurface, and all other functional areas to ensure high performance and alignment with exploration and production initiatives
- Responsible for the development of annual production and operation plans
- Responsible for effective and efficient communicate with all functional areas
- Responsible for the design and implementation of an effective organisation structure within functional reporting areas
- Responsible for the training and development of staff within functional reporting groups
- Responsible for the clear communication of programmes and initiatives to the Peruvian Operation, Corporate Office, and Company Board of Directors
- Oversee drilling operation and responsible for successful well production output
- Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendor relations
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of Oil & Gas operational management experience
- Minimum of 10 years in Offshore & Onshore drilling operations
- Minimum of 10 years in Exploration & Production (preferably in Latin America)
- Proven tract record on contributing towards successful well production output
- Bachelors decree from an accredited college or university in a relevant subject (e.g. Petroleum/Mechanical/Industrial engineering etc.)
- Proficiency in English & Spanish (both written and verbal)
- Proven strong management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
