 A Major Owner Operator is seeking a Rotating Equipment Quality Assurance to be based in Calgary, AB on a one year rolling contract.
Local candidates only please.
Position Purpose:
Provide Quality Control Assurance at Onshore Projects Oil Sands Construction sites for Rotating Equipment Installations.
Responsible to ensure Quality Control requirements are defined and met for projects.
Responsible to provide Quality Control requirement training to 3rd party inspectors and Contractor Quality Control personnel.
Administer applicable Quality Assurance requirements to Onshore Projects Oil Sands and Installations as they apply to Rotating Equipment.
Principal Accountabilities:
Review the Construction Contractors Quality Control Manuals for Construction of Rotating Equipment installations to ensure they meet the requirements of the Jurisdiction Safety Codes, Acts and applicable Project Standards and purchase order requirements.
Support the project in developing an ITP to ensure appropriate hold and witness points are identified for rotating equipment.
Ensure project lessons learned on quality control are documented and applied to future projects.
Monthly reporting of Construction Quality KPI's.
Actively demonstrate support for the corporate position on health, safety, sustainable development, diversity, respectful workplace and the General Business Principles and Code of Ethics.
Quality Assurance of Rotating Equipment Installations
Surveillance or Audit inspection activities within the project for ITP compliance
Support the project to ensure clear inspection activities for Operator or 3rd party inspectors, complete with reporting expectations.
Provide training for the check sheet including reporting expectations to field and 3rd party inspectors as required
Surveillance and Audit function to ensure compliance to requirements
Support NCR resolution.
Develop a standardized checklist to apply to field installations.
Supports the flawless project deliverables.
Ensures that the project preservation plan is in place and in effect.
Special Challenges:
Surveillance of construction Quality Control work on multiple Oil Sands projects for on time completion of deliverables and completed documentation.
Ability to influence project management teams on integrity based decisions to ensure the correct balance of risk and cost considerations in business decisions and regulatory requirements.

Experience and Qualifications required:
Minimum Qualifications:
Journeyman Mechanic / Millwright, Inter-Provincial Red Seal preferred. Minimum 10 years new construction installation.
Engineering Tech diploma with minimum 5 years field new construction installation experience or minimum 10 years field experience new construction installation.
A broad knowledge of Rotating Equipment management / maintenance / operational practices and applicable technology.
Minimum 10 years experience in maintenance / fabrication / installation of gas gathering and processing equipment
