Company Information:
Our client is a rapidly growing and well-capitalized energy company headquartered in Calgary focused on oil sands development in the Athabasca region of Alberta, Canada. The company owns a 100% working interest in 800 square miles of oil sands leases which are estimated to contain in excess of six billion barrels of oil in place and approximately three billion barrels of recoverable resource.
With growth comes opportunity and there is a current need for a Sr. Contracts Administrator, Operations to fill a full time contract position based in Calgary Alberta Canada.
Overview:
Contribute to the success of our client's operation in the construction of its SAGD facilities by providing your experience and knowledge in contracts administration. The Sr. Contracts Administrator is responsible to assist the SCM field team in the administration of contracts, while ensuring compliance with the company's corporate Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Contract policies.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide and demonstrate personal Safety leadership in accordance with Environment Health and Safety Program. Provide leadership in establishing a strong Safety culture within the organization, vendors, service providers, and the contractors they engage with.
-Administer all contracts and service agreements from award until completion and contract closeout to ensure contract requirements are met for commitments, changes and invoices and are in accordance with SCM Corporate / Business Unit policies and procedures;
-Initiate and direct contractor business review meetings ensuring that safety, cost and schedule requirements are as per the contract requirements. Provide Minutes for all meetings and ensure all items are addressed;
-Manage all contract costs as per the contract documents. Verify and track costs and hours as per the contract;
-Act as a liaison with other departments including the corporate head office in Calgary;
-Receive, record and file contract documents and other correspondence;
-Maintain and update contracts database and various other databases used in the department;
-Be responsible to report and assist the field team with progress claims, quantity surveying and monitoring of deliverables;
-Review proposed changes and ensure change management requirements are completed as per approved SCM processes including analysis of any and all impacts on cost, schedule and quality;
-Perform selective audits of invoicing to ensure contractual terms are met;
-Steward contractor relationships.
Requirements:
-Post-secondary education preferably in Business Administration or equivalent degree
-Courses in PMAC an asset
-Minimum of 10 years' experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in contract administration
-Excellent verbal and written communication
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Working knowledge of Contract Law
-Working knowledge of regulations and codes
-Excellent computer skills including Microsoft programs (Excel is a must)
-Can prepare comprehensive reports
