Spencer Ogden is looking for an experienced onshore HSE Lead to join a Global O&G Company on a temp to perm contract in North Dakota. The successful candidate will be the Company's local HSE resource supporting operations in the field. The position will be located in Williston, ND. This position is an opportunity to develop and grow an HSE career in an active oil and gas area of the country.
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to providing service and support for the company's HSE management system at the district to both management and field staff. Provides leadership in implementation, development and administration of safety practices, policies and training through various methods. Review current practices and facilitate development of HSE procedures in accordance with the Company's HSE Management System standards. Participate in corporate HSE audits and provide support for field inspection and review programs. Facilitate/participate in root-cause analyses to determine incident causes and recommendations to eliminate or mitigate identified causes.
Assist operations, maintenance, drilling and their technical personnel on routine HSE matters. Coordinate field safety meetings. Facilitate emergency response drills. Coordinate reviews of HSE data to assure reporting is consistent and trends are identified.
Minimum requirements to qualify for the job:
Must be authorized to work in the USA. Local North Dakota candidates will be highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas.
Minimum of 4-6 years oil and gas experience in an HSE support function, preferably onshore drilling
Previous HSE experience in the Bakken is preferred.
Experience interpreting internal and/or external standards and applying to field operations.
Experience indentifying and developing training for applicable HSE topics.
Experience in emergency response; ISC, planning, response, drills and training.
Extensive understanding of HSE regulations applicable to oil and gas production and drilling in the U.S.
Team orientated, but able to set personal objectives and work on a stand alone basis.
Must be excellent communicator and be able to establish rapport with field staff.
Proficient in Outlook, MS Office, digital scanning software, digital photo operation and general computer usage/electronic file management.
Position requires extensive field travel and will sometimes require long hours in the field in adverse work/climatic environments. Work involves some lifting, extensive walking/climbing and wearing of personal protective equipment including hard hat, steel toed boots, respiratory protective equipment, goggles, etc.
