WorleyParsons Edmonton is currently looking for a Construction Manager based out of its Edmonton office. Traveling throughout Canada will be expected. A Construction Managers main role is to be accountable for all construction activities which include civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation and be able to set up full site infrastructure. Including, but not limited to, project safety, cost schedule and quality. Other aspects include:


  • Ensure construction procedures are developed, understood and implemented
  • Participate in contractor evaluations, pre-qualifications and preparing estimates
  • Produce a job start-up plan and schedule, manage costs, safety and construction
  • Develop safety and construction execution plans
  • Chair contractors kick-off and weekly review meetings
  • Hold planning meetings (brainstorming sessions) to identify tasks and problems, and make decisions as a team
  • Involve the contractors that will perform the tasks in the planning process and the hazard analysis procedure
  • Develop daily and monthly reports
  • Monitor/control contractor field direct and indirect charges
  • Establish construction performance measurements
  • Review the contractor's equipment plan and ensure that the selection is effective for the scope throughout the project
  • Hire, train and manage a staff capable of meeting objectives for executing construction activities
  • Develop roles and responsibilities for all positions
  • Assign key project personnel and bring them into planning process early in the project
  • Review scheduling and resources for all site construction activities
