Featured Employer: Kinder Morgan

Kinder Morgan is the largest midstream and the third largest energy company (based on combined enterprise value) in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 73,000 miles of pipelines and 180 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. We also store or handle a variety of products and materials at our terminals such as gasoline, jet fuel, ethanol, coal, petroleum coke and steel.

In most of our businesses we operate like a giant toll road and receive a fee for our services, generally avoiding commodity price risk. Our customers include major oil companies, energy producers and shippers, local distribution companies and businesses across many industries. We invest billions of dollars each year to build new energy infrastructure and expand existing assets, as well as on integrity management programs to operate our assets safely.

The Kinder Morgan family of companies has four publicly traded entities: Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI), Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: KMP) (one of the largest publicly traded pipeline master limited partnerships in America), Kinder Morgan Management, LLC (NYSE: KMR) and El Paso Pipeline Partners (NYSE: EPB). Combined, the Kinder Morgan companies have an enterprise value of approximately $110 billion.

Natural Gas Pipelines

With approximately 62,000 miles of pipelines, Kinder Morgan is the largest natural gas transporter and largest storage operator in North America. Our pipelines reach deep into the traditional Gulf Coast supply areas, the prolific Rockies supply basins, and many important natural gas shale plays including Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Fayetteville, Barnett, Utica and Marcellus that will play a significant role in meeting the nation's long-term natural gas supply. We serve the major consuming markets of the entire United States.

Products Pipelines

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of refined petroleum products in North America. Through our Products Pipelines business unit, we transport over 2 million barrels per day of gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, natural gas liquids and other fuels through more than 8,000 miles of pipelines. We also have approximately 50 liquids terminals in this business segment that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and other products.

CO2

Kinder Morgan is the leading transporter and marketer of carbon dioxide in North America. We deliver approximately 1.3 billion cubic feet per day of CO2 through about 1,300 miles of pipelines. CO2 flooding is a proven technology that is used to boost production in mature oil fields. We transport CO2 via pipeline from southwestern Colorado to west Texas where it is injected into oil producing fields. The Permian Basin produces approximately 20 percent of the total oil production in the United States (excluding Alaska). When you work with Kinder Morgan CO2, you are working with the premier supplier and transporter of high quality CO2.

Terminals

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America. We have approximately 180 terminals that store refined petroleum products, crude oil, chemicals and biofuels. We also handle dry bulk materials such as coal, petroleum coke and steel. Key assets include liquids terminals on the Houston Ship Channel and in New York Harbor, Los Angeles Harbor and Edmonton, Alberta, as well as strategically located coal terminals in the Southeast and along the Gulf Coast.

Kinder Morgan Canada

Kinder Morgan operates a number of pipeline systems and terminal facilities in Canada including the Trans Mountain pipeline, the Cochin pipeline, the Puget Sound and the Trans Mountain Jet Fuel pipelines, the Westridge marine terminal, the Vancouver Wharves terminal in British Columbia and the North Forty terminal in Edmonton, Alberta.
