Comprised of Southeast Asian countries including Papua New Guinea and Indonesia and stretching across to the massive continent of Australia and smaller island country of New Zealand, Australasia is increasingly becoming a major developer of oil and natural gas resources, particularly in the offshore sector. Energy developments to harness liquefied natural gas are taking off predominantly in the Australasian region of Oceania, which boasts such major LNG projects as Gorgon, PNG, Pluto, Prelude and Wheatstone, all set to produce within the next decade.
