Job Description:
Key Accountabilities

  • Provide all project controls support for the project(s) and ensure these are fit for purpose, timely and cost-effective
  • Develop, and submit for approval, cost estimates, resource and planning schedules for the project(s) at key project stages from screening to full sanction
  • Prepare and maintain cost, planning and administration procedures, input to the Project strategy and execution plans, ICT plan and other documentation
  • Prepare and maintain the work breakdown structure in coordination with work and organisation structures and accounting processes
  • Maintain timely awareness on project cost and planning performance against budget; recommend corrective actions; coordinate project change control process
  • Agree project arrangements for contract administration and processing of AFEs with Contracts Manager and Project Accountant, and implement accordingly
  • Prepare regular and timely progress reports detailing progress against plans and budgets, for circulation to asset management, project partners and stakeholders
  • Populate and update ProSpace data for the project monthly, and submit other progress information as requested for management and shareholder reviews
  • Lead cost and schedule quantatitive risk analyses, using probabilistic techniques to support project contingency
  • Coordinate the provision of support logistics for the project
  • Monitor and review the project services element of contractor performance throughout the contract life-cycle; recommend corrective action where necessary
  • Act as the project services expert in discussions with regional management teams, partners, authorities and other stakeholders outside the asset team
  • Contribute to peer assists and functional reviews according to VAF and PDAS to add value and provide assurance
  • Contribute to the company Advance knowledge base to assist in the development of best practice project services
  • Ensure that all elements of the project services function are executed in accordance with the project Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical professional with broad exposure to E&P/LNG business, based upon good working knowledge from opportunity evaluations and project management
  • Verifiable record in the successful provision of project controls on at least one complex hydrocarbon gas project in ‘high-focus' environments, including development of cost estimates, schedules and budgets, and the monitoring of contractor performance against these
  • Gained wide exposure to cultural and geographical environments
  • Able to lead the implementation of HSE improvements
  • Had exposure to range of technical and commercial lifecycle activities
  • Has sound understanding of the financial and commercial impact of project and engineering decisions on project attractiveness and performance
  • Able to respond to customer needs
  • Experience of working within matrix organisations
  • Broad experience of EPC or EPCM contracts with desired exposure to large lump sum contracts
  • Hands-on experience of using project control systems and procedures supported by current software applications - Excel, Questor, @Risk, MS Project, Primavera P3 etc.
  • Experienced in reviewing and challenging contractor estimates, schedules and risk analysis
  • Experience in benchmarking
  • Experience in the development and application of cost and schedule risk analysis procedures
