Keppel FELS will build a semisub for Caspian Drilling based on their DSS38M rig design. Delivery is scheduled for 4Q2016 and Keppel's CSC yard in Azerbaijan will carry out the fabrication, integration, testing and commissioning of the rig while Baku shipyard will fabricate a portion of the pontoons and columns with Keppel FELS providing engineering, procurement and technical support. The rig will be rated to work in water depths up to 3,300 feet and rated to drill to depths of 40,000 feet. Other features include a self-contained eight-point mooring system designed to meet the harsh environment requirements of the Caspian Sea.

Diamond Offshore's Ocean Patriot (mid-water semisub) is anchored on location in 950-feet of water in the Galoc field and has spud the Galoc-5H development well. Contracted by the field operator Otto Energy, the rig will drill the 5H and 6H wells as part of the Galoc Phase II development which was approved in September 2012. Drilling is expected to continue for roughly 115 days.
